Partnering for a strong Mohave County

6th November 2009

We are fortunate to have a wealth of businesses, agencies and colleges that work with Mohave Community College to help assure the availability of higher education for all Mohave County residents; and new partnership are being formed.

An intergovernmental agreement will be signed by MCC and the Mohave Rancho Fire Department to make college credits available to their personnel who successfully complete the fire academy training. This is the sixth such agreement between MCC and area fire departments.

MCC and Western International University have just signed an agreement that facilitates transfer of MCC students’ lower-division courses to WIU for a bachelor’s degree. WIU is the 16th university to sign an articulation agreement with MCC.

The college is also a partner in a program developed by the Mohave County One-Stop Career Centers, which is using stimulus dollars to prepare veterans and the unemployed for high-demand jobs in career/technical fields. Read the rest of this entry »
