NMC sets free GED orientation, classes

26th February 2008

Free GED orientation sessions will be held March 19 and 20 on Mohave Community College’s North Mohave Campus in Colorado City for those interested in earning their General Education Development (GED) certificate, comparable to a high school diploma.

There is no charge for the orientations, which will run from 12:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in Room 402 on Wednesday and Thursday. The orientations are recommended for all students who will be taking their GED tests. During orientation, the students will be given the Test of Adult Basic Education, which evaluates what areas of the GED test they need to study.  Students will also be provided with information on the official GED test.

GED classes are offered without charge by MCC’s College Preparatory Services Division. The classes run Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 4 to 7 p.m. from March 20 through May 15.

Those wishing to take the GED classes must provide a government-issued identification. If the students are 16 or 17, they must bring a statement from the last school attended to certify their official withdrawal. They must also complete an Under-18 Admission Form.

For more information or to register for the orientation sessions, stop by the Colorado City campus of MCC or call (928)875-2799.
