Thousands of MCC-NCK library books weeded out for free taking by public

23rd April 2008

Thousands of MCC-NCK library booksThe library on Mohave Community College’s Neal Campus - Kingman is currently “weeding” 10,000 books from its collection to be either given away or discarded. Roughly one-third of the books are being donated to Arizona State Prison - Kingman while the remainder is available on campus free to the public during regular campus hours. The collection of discarded books, which will be added to on a nearly daily basis until mid-May, can be looked through and picked up in front of the campus library inside the Student Center (Building 200). The library staff goes through the collection yearly to discard books and materials that have become outdated. Above, library operations assistant Charyl Shaffer inventories a small portion of the books that have been sorted from the library collection. For more information, call (928) 757-0856.
