Registration traffic has been steady, but a rush is expected when walk-in registration for spring semester open on Jan. 4 after winter break. The college encourages everyone to enroll early to avoid the congestion in January. With enrollment increasing each semester at Mohave Community College, students are beginning to see the importance of registering early.”Classes are filling earlier each semester,” said Danette Bristle, dean of instruction for MCC. “Students who need a particular class at a specific time are seeing that they need to make the time to register early and not wait until the last few weeks before the start of classes.

“Although we strive to open additional sections when a class fills, the days and times for those classes will vary depending on the availability of instructors and classrooms,” Bristle added.

Walk-in registration for spring semester at MCC is under way and continues through Dec. 4. It will then close down until Jan. 4 to allow for staff training at the college and winter break. Walk-in registration will begin again and Jan. 4 and run through Feb. 1. Online registration for returning students, however, is available 24/7.

Hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Thursday and 8 to 5 on Fridays through Dec. 4, and Jan. 4 through Feb. 1. The college will be closed for Thanksgiving on Nov. 26 and 27. On Feb. 2, registration returns to its regular schedule, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays.

MCC offers certificates and associate’s degrees in career/technical fields and degrees that transfer to universities toward bachelor’s degrees.
